Softball Bats

There are three very interesting developments in the realm of softball bats which should excite a lot of softball enthusiasts. One is the existence of a website devoted entirely towards reviewing bats, BatReviews.com. What is so cool about this site is that it houses a formidable collection of real-life reviews about the different models and brands of bats out there in the market.
This is how the web site does its cool job. Softball Today magazine picks then sends softball players to the web site office. Based on a strict selection criteria which among other things classifies the tournament players into slow pitch players (from the A through D divisions–ASA and USSSA rated) and fast pitchers (Select, High School, Junior College and College programs), these players are made to “test drive” freshly manufactured models of softball bats and asked later what they think about each bat’s performance. A number rating is used to grade the bats and the ratings are posted at the website for anybody to access. This way, no account setup is necessary to read the reviews which saves surfers a lot of time!

Another great development pertains to Toledo Sports Equipment, a company which devoted 50 years to fabricating components for softball bats. That is certainly enough experience to enable them to venture into making the bats themselves, instead of making them for other manufacturers. To date, Toledo has come up with a line of slow and fast pitch bats designed for players of all skill levels. The company has fielded the Katana Crimson for the slow pitch market; and the Katana Jade, Sapphire and Inferno for the fast pitch market. And the feedback from the professional players is so encouraging that Toledo will probably be in business for at least another fifty years!
And the third great news is that Louisville’s Sluggers are definitely getting better. Softball enthusiasts remember the time when the company fielded the Genesis which broke into half in softball fields. Not anymore! The 2005 Catalyst by Louisville’s Sluggers is showing incredible tenacity and longevity in the professional games. It certainly has a bright future and so does the company that makes it.
